About Dennis....

Dennis joined the staff at Portola Station in 1981 as the Associate Pastor. Soon after, he also took the position of Youth Pastor. For 25 years, Dennis filled various positions under Senior Pastor, Ral Klundby, until 2006, when he became the Senior Pastor at Portola Station. Because he doesn't know a stranger, Dennis can always be found engaged in a conversation, sharing a laugh, or lending a helping hand. His role as Senior Pastor has not limited him to sermon preparation and delivery, but also includes counseling, meeting with the men's prayer group, teaching AWANA, and organizing weekly staff meetings. Dennis loves his congregation at Portola Station and they love him right back!

Dennis and his lovely wife, Debby, have been married since 1975. Together they spent six years working on staff with Campus Crusade for Christ in Idaho. Soon they raised two boys, Peter and Steven, who now reside in Portland and Los Angeles. Dennis' hobbies include: remodeling old houses, building or restoring furniture in his wood shop, kayaking in the summer, and snowshoeing during the winter. He is known for his collection of numerous plumb bobs and his explosive scientific mind!
