DAVE'S THOUGHTS

Last Asylum we talked about making our life matter. The question was asked, What in our life really matters for eternity? We need to ask this question if we are interested in being a life that makes a difference in this world for Jesus Christ. I'm not going to answer the question here, though. I want you to figure it out. What in your life is making a difference for Jesus Christ? What actions, deeds, words, are changing lives for eternity? I'm pretty sure most people want to be a part of something that matters. We want to have significance, to have an impact, and to have a purpose greater than ourselves. So, I'm thinking these questions are getting you to wonder. What in your life really matters? How would God answer that question? My hope in writing this article is that some of you wonderful young people out there are really evaluating your life and striving to have a life of eternal significance. What an exciting life we can have in Jesus when we really get serious about pleasing Him, and finding what will change lives, what will matter in the end. Seek Him, pray to Him, read the Word, and He will guide you in the everlasting way.

Follow Christ
One time a man told Jesus, I will follow you wherever you go. Jesus told him that the Son of Man doesn't even have a place to sleep. Jesus was homeless! I don't think the man was prepared for Jesus to respond the way he did. He probably was expecting Jesus to say something like, 'Great! Just follow me whenever you can, I'll be happy with that.' But Jesus expected him to be willing to go through anything, even if it meant being homeless. Basically to give his whole life to following Christ. It's no different today. Jesus still is calling us to follow Him, and His expectations haven't changed. He wants your whole life. And once He gets a hold of your whole life, He can begin to transform you from the inside out. He can take your life and develop you into someone you never thought you could be. Let Him take your whole life, and expect the unexpected. He will take you on an adventure through life more exciting and abundant than anything else this world has to offer!
